Tom Royston was hired by Freightliner Corporation in 1972 as a Material Handler in the Parts Manufacturing Plant. He soon transferred to the Truck Manufacturing Plant for approximately two years, until he accepted a position at the Portland Parts Distribution Center. In 1976, Tom became a member of the Freightliner Test Fleet and he spent the next 10 years driving and testing Freightliner trucks. Later, Tom was hired in the Corporate Transportation Department where he oversaw the movement of all full load and LTL freight. In 1988, when Freightliner was awarded its first contract to deliver M915A1 tractors to the U.S. Army, Tom was hired to coordinate and manage the worldwide distribution of those tractors. Upon completion of that contract, Tom became a Specification Writer in the Freightliner Sales Engineering Department. In March 1998, Tom returned to the Government Vehicles Department where he currently develops and coordinates Truck Sales Orders for commercial vehicles procured by Federal Government Agencies as Sales Coordinator.
